City Wolf

City Wolf was born in a small downtown Los Angeles apartment in the summer of 2018. Clayton Stroope, a former VH1 You Oughta Know artist and the vocalist and songwriter of the US Gold selling, and Top 40 charting piano-based pop band Thriving Ivory wanted to stretch his legs and take a departure from the familiar. Clayton grew up listening to the harsh programmed drum samples of Lincoln Park, Nine Inch Nails, and Depeche Mode, but absorbed vocal influence from emotive pop singers like Rob Thomas, George Michael, and Prince. His desire to combine these ingredient onto one musical canvas led him to the door of veteran Los Angeles producer TheUnder.

The two immediately hit the ground running and recorded a six song EP which was released by Los Angeles based publishing house and licensing firm Riptide Music Group. City Wolf’s track These Streets was soon thereafter picked up by Amazon Prime as the theme song for their 2019 AVP Pro Tournament Trailer. Following this success, the self-titled City Wolf EP also gained wider distribution into the sync licensing market gaining placements with Hulu, Marvel, Activision, Netflix, and Fox Sports.

In 2020 City Wolf further delved into the sync licensing market teaming up with veteran artist Easy McCoy for a collaboration record for Position Music. City Wolf has more recently begun projects with Offstream Entertainment and Completed Tracks with several releases scheduled for 2021.
